Political Scorecard
UDW AFSCME Local 3930 publishes an annual legislative scorecard evaluating California state legislators based on their voting records related to care work, labor protections, and union-supported legislation. The publication is shared with union members and elected officials and serves as a public accountability tool.
The scorecard has a long standing structure/system that I worked within, but production had historically relied on fully manual data entry for voting records. With 20-pages of scores, this process was time-consuming and easy to mess up. To improve accuracy and efficiency, I set up an Excel file to organize the data and used InDesign’s Data Merge to place the scores into the layout. That made revisions faster and reduced errors, especially late in the process.
I designed the cover and interior feature spread.
